Karen Narvarte is one of the founders of Pecan Grove Press and now edits and directs Orchard Press. She teaches English for St. Mary's University and runs The Garden of Hope, a program designed to work with disadvantaged students to help them complete their G.E.D.s. She has won the Marianist Heritage Award at St. Mary's University and the President's for St. Mary's University Service to the Community. H. Palmer Hall directs the library and teaches in the English Department of St. Mary's University. He became co-director of Pecan Grove Press in 1990 while editing A Measured Response, a collection of poems dealing with the Persian Gulf War, for Pecan Grove Press. His most recent books are Deep Thicket & Still Waters (Chili Verde Press, 1999) and A Measured Response (Chili Verde Press, 1994). His personal website contains poems, essays and short stories from his seven chapbooks and books..
