Literary San Antonio
San Antonio is a wonderful city with a rich, vibrant literary life. Poetry readings occur in various venues three or more times each week and a regular Poetry Slam event occurs each Tuesday evening in a local bar.
Aside from readings, poets in San Antonio have several literary journals dedicated to them and a number of small presses that publish both San Antonions and others.
The local newspaper, The San Antonio Express-News has a regular book section each Sunday and lists readings, signings, and other events that are reported to them.
Unfortunately, most of the book reviews are not of San Antonio writers, but that has been improving.
This page is devoted to the San Antonio local literary scene and to the people who make it happen.
