Subject: Congratulations to Pat Helton, Marianist Heritage Award Winner

Hurray for Pat! All of you who know her realize how deserving she is of this award. In addition to the many, many things she does on campus, Pat has been a major supporter of For Paws through cat trapping, education, and a shoulder to cry on. In fact, her involvement with For Paws was noted at the awards ceremony. (That's right: we were openly acknowledged as a real organization by an administrator in front of other administrators!)
Our congratulations and sincere thanks to Pat for all she does.

Subject: Bright Spots in a Gray Day

Good afternoon. For a little ray of sunshine, check out the For Paws merchandise in the colorful Mardi Gras window display at the Bookstore.
Also, Animal Care Services is having the grand opening of its new facility on February 2. Where else can you see an actual spay/neuter procedure? Seriously, this state-of-the-art facility is a tremendous step forward for animal care in our city.
Thanks to the Bookstore staff and all of you for your support.

ACS will host a ribbon cutting and day long celebration Saturday, February 2, 2008 to mark the grand opening of the City's new animal shelter. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 5p.m. at the new ACS facility at 4710 State Highway 151.
The ribbon cutting ceremony will start at noon featuring dignitaries and a host of four legged friends. Special events are planned throughout the day including guided tours of the shelter with opportunities to see an actual Spay/Neuter surgery. The new ACS mascots will make their public debut and we need your help naming our new larger than life ambassadors.
For a $1 donation, you can submit your idea for naming the new male dog and female cat mascots. Two winners will get an S.A. Rampage tickets and their very own"IPAW" (okay...it's an IPOD!) A donation of $10 will get you a chance to win an incredible Spurs prize pack valued at $500. The Spurs Coyote, the Silver Dancers, Sparky and McGruff will be on hand and there will even be live music by two time ACS Rock & Rescue winners, Rockus Circus. The Adoption center will be open and there will be fun for the whole family...
Please join us at this very special event!!!

Hello. I don't normally forward internet funnies, but this is really cute and has a great spay/neuter message. Thanks.

Hi, friends. We tallied up the donations from our Christmas fundraiser and are happy to report the total was $531.14! (I was hoping for maybe $100.) Thank you so much. And to see who benefits from your generosity, take a look at the attachment.
Thanks for your support from Little Buckie, Bevo, Java, Thomasina, LJ, Patches, Stripey, and Stubby.

Subject: A Tenuous Peace

Good morning. Was it only last year (12/31/07) that Stubby and Stripey weren't getting along? As you can see in a more recent photo, some progress toward peaceful coexistence has been achieved. It really does help to break breadóor to share a canówith one another.
But the bigger issue is that Stubby really, really needs a home! At least four different people on campus have expressed concern to me about Stubby and his intense need for human contact. Alas, none of these kind folks can adopt him, but all of us can get the word out that a very sweet young cat needs a home of his own.
Thanks for your support.
