Subject: Meet QT

Last night several students brought this little charmer from the Outback. QT is female (we think) and about 7 weeks old. She's too small for surgery, so she'll go to the Lucio Home for Wayward Kittens for a few weeks. She is very friendly, talkative, litter-box proficient—in short, she's a perfect little kitten looking for a permanent home. Please share her photo. QT is the seventh young feline found on campus since August. When—if ever—does kitten season end? Thanks for your support.

Subject: Fundraiser Coming Up

We're doing our annual fundraiser early this year (October 22-23) with Halloween-themed sock cats and bandana-wearing sock dogs. Proceeds from the dog sales will benefit the Westside Dog Initiative. Cats are $8.00 and dogs $10.00. If you can't wait to get your paws on one of these hand-crafted cuties, stop by the Blume Library any time. Thanks for your support.

Subject: Meet Hallie

With her black and orange markings, Hallie is the perfect Halloween treat. Rescued by students in the Outback, this petite female is sweet and gentle and less than a year old. I will try to get her into the Humane Society, but there are no guarantees, and neither Nettie nor I have room for another foster. So after she recovers from today's surgery, Hallie will be returned to campus unless someone can foster her—or better yet, adopt her! Please do what you can to help Hallie. Thanks.

Subject: Hallie Update & Fundraiser Reminder

Hallie had some complications from her spay surgery yesterday; our vet thinks a pregnancy at a young age left Hallie with a fragile uterus which was more difficult to remove. But she is eating well and having a comfortable recovery. In two weeks she'll be ready for adoption.
Do you want to help campus cats and Westside dogs? Volunteer for an hour at our fundraiser! We'll be right outside the Learning Commons on October 22-23 from 10am-2pm. Contact Pat Somach to sign up. Thanks for your support.

Subject: Soap for Sale

My soap-making, cat-loving cousin Barbara has donated another batch of handcrafted soap for our upcoming fundraiser. This year's super scent is Purrfectly Pumpkin, and it is smashing! Pick up some soap ($4.00 a bar) at the Blume Library or at the sale Monday-Tuesday outside the Learning Commons. Thanks for your support.

Subject: Dogs Going, Going...Gone?

Our annual fundraiser ends today; the cats and soap are already gone, and the dogs aren't far behind. Now's the time to “adopt” a dog at our fundraiser to support Westside Dog Initiative. Stop by the Commons patio ASAP! Thanks.

Subject: We Did It!

For Paws donated $300 to the Westside Dog Initiative! Thanks to all who participated in our fundraiser by making, buying, or selling merchandise. And thanks to WDI for stepping up to help dogs, people, and the community they live in. Now, back to feeding, trapping, fostering, and adopting Westside cats. Yippee!
