2006 Success Stories


    June 1, 2011 to Aug. 5, 2011 fifty-six cats (32 females, 24 males) were spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and ear-tipped. Fourty-nine were returned to their trapped location and 7 were adopted. Thank you, Gaynelle & Gene Rankin Endowment Trust of the San Antonio Area Foundation!



    These SIX 5-6 week old black kittens were found in a downspout at Charles Francis on July 24, 2011. They combo tested negative, and were placed with SCAT for adoption.




    November 29, 2010 to May 31, 2011, 97 cats (55 females, 42 males) were spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and ear-tipped. Ninety cats were returned to their trapped location and 3 were adopted. Thank you, Petsmart Charities and the Animal Welfare Society for including us in this grant!



    Pablo was rescued 5/11/11. He was neutered, vaccinated, and eartipped. Pablo was returned to his trapped location.





    Matthew was rescued 5/3/11. He was neutered, vaccinated, and eartipped. Matthew has been adopted.





    Bearcat was trapped 4/30/11. She was spayed, vaccinated, and eartipped. Bearcat was returned to campus.

    July 15, 2010 to October 21, 2010, 110 cats (53 females, 57 males) were spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and ear-tipped. Ninety-four cats were returned to their trapped location and 16 were adopted. Thank you, Animal No Kill Fund of the San Antonio Area Foundation!



    Pekoe was rescued 7/9/10. He was neutered, vaccinated, and eartipped. Pekoe was adopted.




    Jasmine was rescued 7/9/10. She was spayed, vaccinated, and eartipped. Jasmine was adopted and now lives in Poth, Texas.




    Swirls was rescued 7/9/10. He was neutered, vaccinated, and eartipped. Swirls was adopted.






    Bingo was rescued 7/12/10. He was neutered, vaccinated, and eartipped. Bingo was returned to campus.




    Sasha was rescued 5/17/10. She was spayed, vaccinated, and eartipped on 7/12/10. Sasha was adopted.

    Lady Grey was rescued 5/20/10. She was spayed, vaccinated, and eartipped. Lady Grey was returned to her trapped location on Overhill.




    Lynx was trapped 5/17/10 near the Raba Building. He was neutered, vaccinated, and eartipped. Lynx was returned to campus.



    Phantom and her kittens were rescued 5/10/10. Phantom was spayed, vaccinated,eartipped, and returned to her trapped location. The kittens have been placed for adoption.



    Earl Grey was trapped 5/7/10. He was neutered, vaccinated, and eartipped. Earl Grey was returned to his trapped location on Overhill.




    Chiquito, Skynyrd, Chica, Girl, Lynyrd, and Negra were rescued 4/30/10. They were spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and eartipped. They were returned to their trapped location on Marquette.



    Fiesty was trapped 4/26/10. He was neutered, vaccinated, and eartipped. Fiesty was returned to campus.





    Cotton was rescued 4/12/10. He was neutered, vaccinated, and eartipped. Cotton was placed with SCAT for adoption.




    Binx and her kittens, Peppy, Mister, and Cookie were rescued 4/8/10. Binx was spayed, vaccinated, and eartipped. She was placed with SCAT for adoption. The kittens are in foster care and will be placed for adoption with SCAT.



    Slick was rescued near the Raba Building 3/24/10. He was neutered, vaccinated, and eartipped. Slick was returned to campus.





    Feb. 12-26, 2010, 32 cats (17 females, 15 males) were spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and ear-tipped. All were returned to their trapped location.




    Willy was trapped near the feeding station on 02/09/10. He went to Blue Cross for neutering, vaccinations, ear-tipping, and a microchip. Willy was returned to campus.


    Rufus was trapped near the feeding station on 02/09/10. He went to Blue Cross for neutering, vaccinations, ear-tipping, and a microchip. Rufus was returned to campus.


    Reddy was trapped near the feeding station on 02/09/10. He went to Blue Cross for neutering, vaccinations, ear-tipping, and a microchip. Reddy was returned to campus.


    White Lightning flashed by, got trapped, and flashed away after being neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and eartipped. He was released on campus.


    Ashes was befriended by a trio of students at the softball field 01-20-10. Ashes got the full treatment at Blue Cross Pet Clinic and is now neutered, vaccinated, ear-tipped, and microchipped. Ashes has found a loving home.


    Crema was trapped near the feeding station on 01/18/10. He went to Blue Cross for neutering, vaccinations, ear-tipping, and a microchip. Crema was returned to the feeding station.



    Noelle was rescued 12-28-09. She was combo tested (negative), vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed. Noelle is very friendly and healthy. Noelle was placed Petsmart for adoption.


    Frosty was trapped near the feeding station on 12/5/09. She was spayed, vaccinated, eartipped, and microchipped. Frosty has found a loving home.


    Onyx was rescued students in the outback on 11/23/09. He was neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Onyx has found a loving home.


    AJ was trapped near the feeding station 11/2/09. She was spayed, vaccinated, eartipped, and microchipped. AJ was realeased on campus.


    Goblin is about 7 weeks old and weighs 1.5 pounds. He was rescued 10/27/09 by a grad student in the front parking lot. Goblin has been to the vet, and is being fostered. Goblin has found a loving home.


    The siblings Ezra and Abigail (found on campus August 10) were spayed/neutered, inoculated, ear-notched, and microchipped on 10/27/09. Abbie is known as the Little Squirrel because of her unusual coloring and coat. Brother Ezra is your classic laid-back tabby with vivid stripes and spots. The twelve week old kittens have been adopted.


    EJ was rescued 10/21/09 near Garni Hall. EJ is about 5-6 months old, weighs 5 pounds, and is very friendly and healthy. EJ has been spayed, vaccinated, eartipped, and microchipped. EJ has been adopted.


    Opal was rescued 10/17/09. A Chaminade resident saw the little calico in a tree, retrieved her, and notified For Paws. Opal has been spayed, vaccinated, eartipped, and microchipped. Opal has found a loving home.


    Stanley was picked up between the UC and Alkek on 10-6-09. He was neutered, vaccinated, eartipped, and microchipped. Stanley was returned to campus.


    G.K. (Girl/Gray Kitten) and brother B.K. (Boy/Black Kitten) were rescued near the jogging track by St. Mary's alum Erica Avila, her sister Rebecca (a freshman), and senior Ricky Gonzalez. The four-month-old kittens were sterilized, vaccinated, and microchipped on 9/30/09. G. K. and B. K. have been adopted.


    Corbie, was dumped on campus September 5, 2009. He is 16 weeks old and is looking for a loving home. Corbie has been tested for FIV/FeLV, vaccinated, and neutered. He loves other cats and humans, including children.


    Flash appeared on campus 9/1/09. The six-month-old tabby was whisked to Blue Cross Pet Clinic where he was neutered, inoculated, ear-notched, and microchipped. He was returned to campus.



    Buzz, Fuzz, and Mango, the last of the neighborhood sweep, were rescued 9/11/09. They were spayed/neutered, inoculated, ear-notched, and microchipped. These cats were returned to homes in the neighborhood and are not part of the campus colony.



    Cocoloco (male), Carob (female), Jones (male), Paprika (female), and Ginger (female) were rescued 8/28/09. They were spayed/neutered, inoculated, ear-notched, and microchipped. These cats were returned to homes in the neighborhood and are not part of the campus colony.



    Fireball (male), Rhubarb (female), and Cayenne (male) were rescued 8/24/09. This colorful trio is part of the neighborhood pilot project. They were spayed/neutered, inoculated, ear-notched, and microchipped. These cats were returned to homes in the neighborhood and are not part of the campus colony.


    Surprise was rescued 8-21-09. She was spayed, inoculated, ear-notched, and microchipped. Surprise was returned to the trapped location.




    Enigma, Mystery, and Puzzle were rescued 8/20/09. The three male orange tabbies were neutered, inoculated, ear-notched, and microchipped. They were returned to their trapped location.


    Tamar was trapped August 20, 2009 from the undeveloped territory between Center for Legal & Social Justice/Family Life Center. She was spayed, inoculated, ear-notched, and microchipped.     Lucy & Leah, Judith & Gideon’s younger siblings, were also rescued August 5, 2009. They were spayed, inoculated, and microchipped.     Jeremiah, blind in one eye and radiating hostility with the other, was trapped at the Woodlawn Marianist Community July 24, 2009. He was dubbed “The Worst” by the vet techs at Blue Cross Pet Clinic. Jeremiah was returned to the trapped location. Thank you, Ruth Lang Charitable Trust of the San Antonio Area Foundation!


    Jonah was rescued from the Center/Family Life territory July 19, 2009. This shy Siamese was very quiet and seemed to have a destination in mind when he was returned. Thank you, Ruth Lang Charitable Trust of the San Antonio Area Foundation


    Benjamin, a mellow tom from the CLSJ territory was trapped July 15, 2009. He was neutered, inoculated, microchipped, and ear-notched. He was returned to the CLSJ. Thank you, Ruth Lang Charitable Trust of the San Antonio Area Foundation!


    Eli & Deborah, offspring of Eve who was the second cat "fixed" through the Extending Boundaries project, were trapped at the Woodlawn Marianist Community July 14, 2009. They were spayed/neutered, inoculated, microchipped, and ear-notched. The kittens were returned to their mom. Thank you, Ruth Lang Charitable Trust of the San Antonio Area Foundation!


    Bathsheba, a friendly female trapped on campus July 14, 2009. She received the full vet treatment thanks to the Ruth Lang Charitable Trust of the San Antonio Area Foundation! Bathsheba was released on campus.


    Joshua, a 12-pound tom from the Family Life Center area, was trapped on July 13, 2009. He was neutered, inoculated, microchipped, and ear-notched. He was returned to the Family Life Center area. Thank you, Ruth Lang Charitable Trust of the San Antonio Area Foundation!


    Choxie, Tippy, and Swirly were rescued June 24, 2009. They were fostered until they were old enough to be spayed/neutered, inoculated, microchipped, and placed for adoption.     Rahab was trapped July 8, 2009 at the Center for Legal & Social Justice/Family Life Center. She was spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and ear-tipped at Blue Cross Pet Clinic.     Shorty was trapped near the Marianist Faculty Residence July 3, 2009. He was neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ear-tipped at Blue Cross Pet Clinic. His vet bill was paid by the Ruth Lang Charitable Trust of the San Antonio Area Foundation. Shorty was returned to campus.



    Ezekiel was trapped at the Woodlawn Marianist Community July 2, 2009. He was neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ear-tipped at Blue Cross Pet Clinic. His vet bill was paid by the Ruth Lang Charitable Trust of the San Antonio Area Foundation. Ezekiel was returned to the trapped location.

    David was trapped at the Woodlawn Marianist Community June 30, 2009. He was neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ear-tipped at Blue Cross Pet Clinic. His vet bill was paid by the Ruth Lang Charitable Trust of the San Antonio Area Foundation. David was returned to the trapped location.



    Maintenance man Dirk Rogers took this little female cat into custody in the Outback where she had charmed a group of visitors June 29, 2009. Chica was spayed, eartipped, and vaccinated. Her vet bill was paid by the Ruth Lang Charitable Trust of the San Antonio Area Foundation. Chica has been adopted and now lives in Massachusetts.



    Mickey (as in Mantle) comes to us from our campus baseball stadium where he had been for several days, just hanging out and making friends June 23, 2009. Mickey was neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, eartipped, and tested negative for FeLV/FIV. His vet bill was paid by the Ruth Lang Charitable Trust of the San Antonio Area Foundation. Mickey is looking for a loving home.



    Daniel was trapped at the Woodlawn Marianist Community June 22, 2009. He was neutered, vaccinated, eartipped, and microchipped at Blue Cross Pet Clinic. His vet bill was paid by the Ruth Lang Charitable Trust of the San Antonio Area Foundation. Daniel was returned to his home territory.

    Mr. Thomas was trapped, neutered, vaccinated,eartipped, and microchipped 6-13-09. His vet bill was paid by the Ruth Lang Charitable Trust of the San Antonio Area Foundation. Mr. Thomas was returned to the Woodlawn Marianist Community area.




    Amy, Maria, & Chris were rescued at the Center for Social & Legal Justice on June 3, 2009. The six-week-old kittens are eating well and weigh about 1.5 lbs. each. They are being fostered until they are old enough to be sterilized thanks to the Ruth Lang Charitable Trust of the San Antonio Area Foundation. They will be placed for adoption.


    Mamacita was rescued on (along with her kittens Amy, Maria, & Chris) on 06-03-09 at the Center for Legal and Social Justice (CLSJ). Mamacita was spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, & ear-tipped. Her vet bill was paid by the Ruth Lang Charitable Trust of the San Antonio Area Foundation. She was returned to the CLSJ.



    Jacob was trapped at the Woodlawn Marianist Community 06-02-09. He was neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ear-tipped. His vet bill was paid by the Ruth Lang Charitable Trust of the San Antonio Area Foundation. Jacob was returned to WMC.



    Elijah was trapped at the Woodlawn Marianist Community 06-02-09. He was neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ear-tipped. His vet bill was paid by the Ruth Lang Charitable Trust of the San Antonio Area Foundation. Elijah was returned to WMC.



    Crazy Eyes was trapped at the Woodlawn Marianist Community 06-01-09. He was neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ear-tipped. His vet bills was paid by the Ruth Lang Charitable Trust of the San Antonio Area Foundation. Elijah was returned to WMC.



    Jezebel was trapped at the Family Life Center 06-01-09. She was spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and ear-tipped. Her vet bills were paid by the Ruth Lang Charitable Trust of the San Antonio Area Foundation. Jezebel was returned to the Family Life Center.



    Eve was trapped at the Woodlawn Marianist Community 05-31-09. She was spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and ear-tipped. Her vet bills were paid by the Ruth Lang Charitable Trust of the San Antonio Area Foundation. Eve was returned to WMC.



    Adam was the first cat whose vet expenses were paid by the Ruth Lang Charitable Trust of the San Antonio Area Foundation. The young tom was trapped 05-30-09 around the Family Life Center. He was neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ear-tipped. He was returned to the FLC.



    Flaco was rescued on 05-26-09. He has been to the vet for kitten shots and an exam. He is being fostered until he is old enough to be sterilized. Flaco will be placed for adoption.



    Juno was trapped near Dougherty Hall 05-22-09. She was spayed, vaccinated, ear-tipped, and microchipped. Juno was returned to campus.




    Woody was trapped in the territory north of campus on 05-18-09. After his vet visit, he was returned to the area where he was trapped.




    Maybe was trapped Friday near the Marianist Faculty Residence 05-01-09. The 8.5 pound silver tabby was neutered, vaccinated, chipped, and tipped. He was returned to campus.



    Ringo was rescued near Charles Francis on 04-29-09. The six-month-old, skinny gray kitten was neutered, vaccinated,microchipped, and ear-tipped. He was released on campus.



    April was trapped by the Marianist Faculty Residence 04-28-09. The 6.5 pound cat is less than a year old, has a beautiful calico coat, a sweet face, and a very feral disposition. She was spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and eartipped. April was released on campus.



    Cuete was trapped near the Math-Engineering Center 04-08-09. He was neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ear-tipped. Cuete was released on campus.



    Blackberry was trapped near the gazebo on 04-04-09. Blue Cross Pet Clinic confirmed he was neutered. He was microchipped, innoculated, eartipped, and returned to campus. Thanks to Pat Helton who helped reunite him with his owner.



    Felyx was caught 03-31-09 through a triple play effort by student Danielle Adan and staff members Norma Valle and Joe Lucio. She was spayed and innoculated and is being fostered. She is looking for a loving home.




    Patty was rescued on 03-17-09. She was spayed, innoculated, and microchipped. Patty has found a loving home.




    Lemon Drop was found lurking under a car by a St. Mary's faculty member on 02-15-09. She was spayed and returned to campus.





    Max was rescued on 02-01-09. He was neutered and released on campus.




    Hulk was trapped near the V. J. Keefe Field dumpsters on January 22, 2009. The fifteen-pound headbanger was neutered and was returned to where he was trapped.





    Ruth was trapped inside the V.J. Keefe baseball stadium on January 18, 2009. She was spayed and released on campus along with her son Babe.

    Dickens was rescued by Master Cat trapper Pat Helton near Campus Ministry on January 9, 2009. He was neutered and returned to campus.





    Blanche, Bonnie & Clyde's sibling, was trapped on January 2, 2009. She was spayed and released at the trapped location.






    Rocky was trapped on Dec. 29, 2008. He was neutered and released at the trapped location.





    Count Dracula showed up in the Law Library on December 5, 2008. He was taken to Blue Cross Pet Clinic. His medical examination revealed that Dracula had already been neutered and microchipped. He was returned to campus and efforts were made to reunite him with his owners.





    Slinky was rescued on December 2, 2008 near the Blume Library. He was neutered and returned to campus.






    Slate was rescued by Java City on November 21,2008. After a visit to Blue Cross Pet Clinic, Slate was returned to campus.




    Vic as rescued near Charles Frances Hall on November 6, 2008 by a For Paws Student member. He was neutered and innoculated. Vic's very gentle temperament won the hearts of his foster parents.



    Michelle was rescued on November 3, 2008. She got the full treatment at Blue Cross Pet Clinic and has found a loving home with a St. Mary's professor.



    Clyde (and Bonnie) were trapped on St. Mary's property north of campus. He was neutered and released at that location.





    Bonnie, along with her sibling Clyde, was trapped on October 26, 2008. She was spayed and released.




    Will Feral was enticed into a carrier near the Subway. He was neutered on October 16,2008. He was adopted by Elizabeth Zamarripa.




    Layla, was rescued by two of our sharp-eyed cat spotters, Stephanie and Ari on September 30, 2008. She was spayed and is looking for a loving home.



    Spooky was rescued by Campus Police and students from under the hood of a car on September 25, 2008. He was tested, vaccinated, and neutered. Spooky has found a loving home. His new name is Parker.





    Spice was trapped by the Math-Engineering building on August 26, 2008. He was neutered and returned to campus.




    Winky was rescued by a St. Mary's staff on August 21, 2008. He was taken to Blue Cross Pet Clinic for neutering and vaccinations. Winky was adopted by Jose & Nettie Lucio.





    Augusto was trapped near the Alkek Building on August 4, 2008. He was neutered and returned to campus.






    Oboe was was lured into a carrier on July 19, 2008. He shares a loving home with an adopted Siamese cat.





    Julio was trapped by Financial Aid on July 3, 2008. He was neutered and returned to campus.




    Boo was trapped on the east side of campus on June 19, 2008. He was neutered and returned to campus.




    Rojo was trapped near Chaminade Tower on June 2, 2008. He was neutered and returned to campus.




    Pearl & Piper were rescued on May 27, 2008. Pearl & Piper have been adopted.



    Veejay was enticed into a carrier near V.J. Keefe Field on May 21, 2008 She was spayed and returned to campus. Veejay has been adopted.




    Lord Greystoke was trapped near the Financial Aid Office on May 18, 2008. He was neutered and returned to campus.




    Diva was trapped in the front of campus. She was returned to campus.



    Cien was lured into a carrier near the feeding station at the Blume Library on May 8, 2008. He was neutered and returned to campus.





    Cinnamon was trapped in the fourth floor Treadaway stairwell on May 1, 2008. He was neutered and returned to campus.



    Spunky was trapped by the Ligustrum entrance on April 23, 2008. She was spayed and returned to campus.





    Mr. Fiesta was trapped at Leies Hall on April 23, 2008. He was neutered and returned to campus.




    Albert was captured by the Alkek building on April 7, 2008. He was neutered and returned to campus.




    Marco was trapped on February 24, 2008. He was neutered and returned to campus.




    Devlin was trapped by the Alkek building on February 18, 2008. He was neutered and returned to campus.




    LJ (Little Jo) was trapped by the statue of St.Joseph on December 21, 2007.She was spayed and returned to campus.




    Stubby was picked up at the outback on December 12, 2007. He was neutered and returned to campus.

    Addie was being fed illegally by student residents. Another student persuaded them to give the cat to For Paws. She was spayed on 10/2/07 and was adopted on October 29, 2007.



    Oreo was captured near Treadaway on October 1, 2007. He was neutered and adopted by a faculty member.




    After living on campus for about two years, Bevo was trapped near Career Services. He was neutered and returned to campus on September 7, 2007.




    Hope and her kittens were thrown into a campus dumpster. After being rescued, Hope was adopted through SCAT (Stray Cat Adoptions of Texas) on August 8, 2007.



    Cream Puff was trapped by the Financial Aid Office on July 24, 2007. Since she was already spayed, she was vaccinated and returned to where she was trapped.



    Sox was trapped in the front of the campus. He was neutered, tested, and vaccinated on July 12, 2007 and returned to campus.



    Magic was trapped June 21, 2007 near Reinbolt Hall. She was tested, vaccinated,and spayed. Magic was returned to campus.



    Little Buckie was trapped May 24, 2007 in the front of the campus. Since she was already spayed, she was tested, vaccinated,and got her ear notched. She was returned to campus.



    Java was trapped May 18, 2007 near Java City. She was tested, vaccinated,and spayed. She was returned to campus.



    Magnus was rescued by student volunteers. He was neutered, tested, and vaccinated on April 30, 2007. He has now been adopted by a St. Mary's student.



    Johnny was lured into a trap March 6, 2007 at the outback. Already neutered and very healthy, he got his ear notched and innoculated. He was returned to campus.


    Smokey was trapped at Leies Hall February 21, 2007. She was spayed, tested, and vaccinated. She has been adopted and now lives in Austin, TX.



    Stevie was lured into a carrier outside the Blume Library on Feb. 16, 2007. After neutering, he was adopted by the family of a St. Mary's student. He now lives in Schulenburg, TX.



    Chispa was trapped Jan. 31, 2007 in the outback. He was neutered and returned to campus.



    Tim was trapped Jan. 26, 2007 in the outback. He was neutered and returned to campus.



    Butter, Bashful's sibling, was rescued on February 10, 2006. He was adopted by St. Mary's student Monica Wolo.

    Midnight was trapped and found to have been neutered. He was innoculated, and had his ear notched on July 28, 2006.He was released on the east edge of campus.



    Bully Boy was trapped by the Subway on June 10, 2006. He was returned to campus.
