Iraq War and terrorism links are together on a separate page
The unclassified part of the National Intelligence estimate that has been in the news lately, dealing with Iran's nuclear weapons intentions and capabilities, can be found here. If you have trouble with this link, try the Office of the Director of National Intelligence's home page. The full title of the report is National Intelligence Estimate Key Judgments.
The bridge collapse in Minnesota has thrown a spotlight on the condition of bridges everywhere. The good documents folks at the University of Minnesota have pulled together a lot of information specifically about the collapsed bridge on their website. They also have links to the National Bridge Inventory Data Files that have been in the news in connection with this tragedy. These files contain raw data; to interpret them, you need this Recording and Coding Guide, a PDF document. Thanks to Amy West and her staff at UMN for making this information so easy to find.
The "Family Jewels" papers, over 700 pages of CIA responses to a request for identification of "activities they thought might be inconsistent with the Agency's charter" were released by the Agency June 26. Another collection of historical documents, known as the CAESAR, POLO, and ESAU papers, which deal with the Soviet Union and China, were also released. You can find the documents from the CIA FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) page (search "family jewels"), the National Security Archive at George Washington University, or National Public Radio.

The recently released Stern Report, produced by the British government, deals with the economic impacts of climate change. The link here leads to an index page from which the full report and various background and associated material may be viewed.
Blume Library Reference Librarian Diane Duesterhoeft has prepared this comprehensive page of information for the 2006 election. It contains contact information for all the candidates appearing on the Bexar County ballot, plus important information on where to vote and early voting.
The Secure Fence Act was recently signed by the President and authorizes construction of 700 miles of fencing along the U.S.-Mexico border. The link here is to Thomas' summary page on the bill, which gives a history of action upon it. The White House provides this Fact Sheet page on the measure, including a link to the President's remarks upon the signing.
House of Representatives' Katrina report (A Failure of Initiative: The Final Report of the Select Bipartisan Committee to Investigate the Preparation for and Response to Hurricane Katrina) is available on the Committee's website. This page also has links to several other related official documents such as hearings and press releases. GPO Access has also posted a PDF version of the report. The Library has a print copy of the White House report: The Federal Response to Hurricane Katrina–Lessons Learned (shelved at PREX 1.2:K 15), and a paper copy of the House Report (shelved at Y 1.1/8:109-377).

Pandemicflu.gov. Links to background, monitoring and press information; also to official government reports on the subject. The Alaska State Library also has developed a page with many links to different related resources.
Mount St. Helens VolcanoCam. An image from five miles away that updates every five minutes. Be aware that foggy conditions may obscure views of the volcano. The U.S. Forest Service makes this page available.
NASA and the Jet Propulsion Lab's Cassini-Huygens page (mission to Saturn and Titan) has the latest images, background and news information, including sections for educators and for kids.
For information on worldwide disasters, both natural and man-made, the Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA) in the Agency for International Development gives background on situations and responses by country, available at this site. They are also working to provide a PDF archive for information on non-current problems.
