GNIS Geographic Names Information System Digital Gazeteer. I 19.120:G 25. 1999. This CD may not be previewed on the computers near the Reference Desk; it requires special software. Some of this information may be available at the U.S. Geological Survey's Web site.
Lake Pontchartrain Basin: Bottom Sediments and Related Environmental Resources. I 19.16:1634/CD. This CD uses browser software to display its content. Open the file START.HTM in any web browser.
Landview II Mapping of Selected EPA-Regulated Sites. EP 1.104/4:CD 92-LV2-1 thru 10. These CDs may not be previewed on the computers near the Reference Desk; they require special software.

Measuring and Monitoring Plant Populations. I 53.58:M 46. This CD consists of a large PDF file. To view it, open the file MEASURING & MONITORING.PDF in Adobe Acrobat.
Records and History of the U.S. Geological Survey. I 19.4/2:1179/CD. Circular 1179 is in PDF format. To view it on computers near the Reference Desk, click on the Adobe Acrobat icon and open the file CIRC_1179.PDF. Rio Grande Wild and Scenic River, Texas. Draft General Management Plan/Environmental Impact Statement. I 29.79/3:R 47/DRAFT. This CD contains various PDF files, but no main index file. Open the desired file in Adobe Acrobat to view.
A Topographic Field Trip of Washington, D.C. I 19.2:W 27/7/CD. This CD is like a game and may be previewed on the computers near the Reference Desk by choosing RUN from the START menu and running 7FT95.EXE. Note that it is somewhat difficult to navigate and exit.
Volcanoes of Indonesia. SI 1.49:V 88. This CD may not be previewed on the computers near the Reference Desk; it requires special software.
What Your School or Child Care Facility Needs to Know about Lead in Drinking Water. EP 2.2:L 46/6/DVD. This collection of movies can be played with any media player. The DVD is kept in the documents stacks, under the classification number shown.
NOTE: These CDs may only be checked out by St. Mary's users (or by other college students/faculty/staff with a Texshare card) or by special arrangement with the Documents Librarian. The CDs have been tested only minimally by the Library staff, and we cannot provide technical support in their use. The Reference Librarians can help you find a source for technical support, if that information is not given with the CD, or contact the Documents Librarian for further information.
These CDs are kept in the office, in filing cabinets in the Documents area, filed by Superintent of Documents classification number (given with each title). You might not be able to check out a CD if you come to the library in the evening or on a weekend when the Documents Librarian is not in. If you need to use a CD the best thing to do is to contact the Documents Librarian in advance and the CD can be left at the Reference Desk for you to check out.
