Asian Monsoon and Data Assimilation. NAS 1.86:M 75/CD. This CD may be used on the computers near the Reference Desk by choosing RUN from the START menu and running the program E:MONSNPC.EXE.
Climatology Interdisciplinary Data Collection (CIDC). NAS 1.86:C 61/V.1-4/CD. This CD contains files in HTML. To view them on computers near the Reference Desk, open the file INDEX.HTML in any web browser when the Volume 1 CD is in the drive.
Collected Data of the Boreal Ecosystem-Atmosphere Study. NAS 1.86:B 64/CD. This is a 12-CD set. To view any of them on computers near the Reference Desk, open the file BOREAS_START.HTML in any web browser.
Columbia Accident Investigation Board Report, V.1-6. NAS 1.2:C 72/V.1-6/DVD. This DVD consists of PDF files and movies (requiring Quicktime for viewing) accessed through a web browser index page. To begin, open clickme.htm in any web browser. Paper copies of some of the volumes of the report are also available in the Documents stacks.
Compton Observatory; Surveying the Universe with Egret, 1991-96. NAS 1.86:C 73/v.1-2/CD. These CDs contain files in HTML. To view them on computers near the Reference Desk, open the file INTRODUCTION.HTM in any web browser.
Consultative Committee for Space Data Systems Recommendations and Reports. NAS 1.86: C 76/998-1, 2000/CD. These CD contain files in PDF format. To view them on computers near the Reference Desk, click on the Adobe Acrobat icon and open the file E:CONTENTS.PDF.
Detector Development Laboratory. NAS 1.86:D 48/CD. This CD may not be previewed on the computers near the Reference Desk; it requires special software.
The Dynamic Sun. NAS 1.86:SU 7/CD. 1999, 2000,2002. These CDs contain various files in PDF format. To view them on the computers near the Reference Desk, click on the Adobe Acrobat icon and open the chosen file.
EO-1 Hyperion and ALI Data Users Workshop. NAS 1 86:H 99/2001/CD. This CD consists of PDF files, with no index file.
EOS (Earth Observer System) Science Plan. NAS 1.86:EA 7/2/CD. This CD contains various files in PDF format. To view them on the computers near the Reference Desk, click on the Adobe Acrobat icon and open the chosen chapter. A brief table of contents for the chapters is printed on the inside cover of the CD case.
EOSDIS Sampler (Earth Observer System). NAS 1.86:EA 7/CD. To use this CD on the computers near the Reference Desk, choose RUN from the START menu and run the program RUNA4W32. When prompted, select the file EOS1297.A4R.
EOSIDS Terra Data Sampler. NAS 1.86:EA 7/4/CD. The data on this CD may not be viewed on the computers near the Reference Desk, as it requires special software. You may read about the data and view documentation by clicking on the Netscape icon and choose Open Page from the File menu. In the location box, type E:START.HTM.
Exploring the Extreme Universe! NAS 1.86: UN 3/2/CD. 1999,2001. This CD contains files in HTML. To view them on computers near the Reference Desk, open the file STARTCD.HTM in any browser.
First Forty Years: A Collection of Selected Images. NAS 1.86:IM 1/CD. Instructions for viewing the images with a special browser on the CD are given on the inside cover of the CD case.
Gamma Ray Observatory (Lessons Learned). NAS 1.86: G 14/CD. This CD may not be previewed on the computers near the Reference Desk; it requires special software.
Geomorphology from Space: a global overview of regional landforms. NAS 1.86:G 29/CD. Files on the CD are in Adobe Acrobat format. To use it on the computers near the Reference Desk, click on the Adobe icon and open the file E:BEGIN.PDF.
Goddard Space Flight Center. NAS 1.86:SP 1. This CD is comprised primarily of PowerPoint files. There is a PowerPoint viewer on the computers near the Reference Desk. There are also some PDF files on the CD.
GRACE (Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment). NAS 1.86:G 78/CD. This CD runs upon insertion into the drive.
GTE: Global Tropospheric Experiment. NAS 1.86:G 51/2,3/ . These CDs may not be used on the computers near the Reference Desk, as they require special software. There is a description of the information on the CD in an HTML file that can be viewed by clicking on the any browser icon and opening the filename given on reverse of the jewel case's title sheet.
Imagers. NAS 1.86:EC 4/CD. This CD contains files and images in HTML format for two interactive educational projects: The Adventures of Echo the Bat and The Adventures of Amelia the Pigeon. The view the files, open START.HTML in any web browser.
Imagine the Universe. NAS 1.86:UN 3/CD. 1998,1999. These CDs are complete captures of the Imagine the Universe educational web site. To use them on the computers near the Reference Desk, open the file CONTENTS.HTM in any web browser.
International Course: Remote Sensing of the Earth's Environment from Terra. NAS 1.86:IN 8/DISK 1-2. Documentation for the "Presentations" CD is in PDF and Word format. The presentations are in PowerPoint. The "Movies" CD contains animations in various formats. Both CDs may be previewed on computers near the Reference Desk.
International Solar/Terrestrial Physics Program. This CD is in the Documents Office. It may not be previewed on the computers near the Reference Desk;
Introductory MODIS Multidisciplinary Data Set. NAS 1.86:M 72/CD. Open the file index.shtml in a web browser to access an index to the CD on computers near the Reference Desk.
Magnetosphere Constellation. NAS 1.86:M 27/CD. This CD may not be used on the computers near the Reference Desk as it requires special software.
Making Sun-Earth Connections. NAS 1.86:SU 7/2/CD. This CD may be used on the computers near the Reference Desk. Click on the Adobe Acrobat icon and open the file E:OVERVIEW.PDF, or select other PDF files. Some files on the CD are in PowerPoint (with the extension .ppt).
Mission to the Moon; Clementine. NAS 1.86:C 59/v.1-115. (CDs are in the Documents Office). These CD may not be previewed on the computers near the Reference Desk; they require special software.
NASA's Earth Science Enterprise. NAS 1.86:EA 7/5/CD. This CD consists of HTML files which utilize multiple media formats. To begin viewing the CD, run E:/cdrom/esex32.exe.
Proceedings of the 1st Annual NRO-OSL/GSFC-ATS Rideshare Conference. NAS 1.86:R 43/CD. Even though it is not a PDF file, the file E:89035 can be opened in Adobe Acrobat and it serves as a table of contents to the document.
Proceedings of the 23rd Annual Software Engineering Workshop. NAS 1.86:SO 2/2/CD. This CD may be previewed on the Reserve CDs Workstation using Adobe Acrobat. Click on the Acrobat icon and open the file E: 23rdSEW.PDF.
Program Tasks and Bibliography for FY 1999. NAS 1.86:P 94/CD. This CD may not be previewed on the computers near the Reference Desk; it requires special software.
Remembering Apollo 11. NAS 1.86:AP 4/2/CD, /2004/CD. These CDs may be previewed on the Reserve CDs Workstation; open the file /START_HERE/START.HTML in any web browser. The 2004 edition contains PDF files.
ROSAT: the Images. NAS 1.86:R 67/V.8/CD. This CD may not be previewed on the computers near the Reference Desk; it requires special software.
SAFARI 2000 (Southern African Regional Science Initiative. NAS 1.86:SA 1/CD. To preview either of the two CDs on computers near the Reference Desk, open the file SAFARI_START.HTML in any web browser.
Selected Astronomical Catalogs. NAS 1.86:AS 8/V.4/997/CD. This CD contains HTML files with links to text files. To use it on the computers near the Reference Desk, open the file BOOKLET.HTM in any web browser.
SIR-C Education Program; Pre-Launch CD-ROM. NAS 1.86:ED 8. This CD may not be previewed on the computers near the Reference Desk; it requires special software.
SOHO (Lessons Learned). NAS 1.86:SO 2/V.1,2/CD. These CDs contain Quicktime video files. To use them on the computers near the Reference Desk, click on RUN from the START menu and run E:SOHO1 (or 2 for the second CD).MOV.
SORCE, Solar Radiation and Climate Experiment, Interactive CD-ROM. NAS 1.86:SO 4/CD. If the CD does not run upon insertion in the drive, run the program PC_Start.exe from the CD. It may be previewed on computers near the Reference Desk.
Spacelab Accomplishments Forum. NAS 1.86:SP 2/CD. This CD may be used on the computers near the Reference Desk by clicking on the Acrobat icon and opening the file E: START.PDF.
Stratospheric Aerosol and Gas Experiment II (SAGE II). NAS 1.86: ST 8/2/CD. This CD contains HTML files (some images which require a media player and Adobe Acrobat). To use it on the computers near the Reference Desk, open the file INDEX.HTML in any web browser.
STS-107 Tribute. NAS 1.2:SP 1/62/CD. This CD contains video and other files that can be viewed in most web browsers.
Sun-Earth Connection. NAS 1 86:SU 7/3/CD. This CD may be used on the computers near the Reference Desk by clicking on the Acrobat icon and opening the file E: INTRODUCTION.PDF.
Techno-Agent. NAS 1.86:T22/CD. This CD requires a Macintosh platform and consequently may not be previewed on the computers near the Reference Desk. It is an educational game.
Terra MODIS Oceans Data. NAS 1.86:T 27/2/V.2/DISK 1-2/CD. Some of the files on the CD are images that may be previewed in a web browser on the computers near the Reference Desk.
TERRA Spacecraft Interactive CD-ROM. NAS 1.86:T 27/2000/CD. To use this CD on the computers near the Reference Desk, if it does not run automatically, click on RUN from the START menu and run E:TERRAPC.EXE.
A Tour of the Cryosphere: the Earth's Frozen Assets. NAS 1.86:EA 7/6/DVD. This video runs upon insertion.
Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission. NAS 1.86:T 75/CD. This CD consists of a PowerPoint presentation with links to some QuickTime movies. To view it on computers near the Reference Desk, open the file E:TRMMOVERVIEW-CD.PPT in the PowerPoint viewer.
Tropospheric Chemistry Program. NAS 1.86:G 51/CD. To view the documentation, images and datafiles on the computers near the Reference Desk, open the file README1.HTML in any web browser.
Twenty-First Space Simulation Conference. NAS 1.86:SP 2/2/CD. This CD may be used on the computers near the Reference Desk by clicking on the Acrobat icon and opening the file E: STECHER_CP.PDF.
Viewing the Violent Universe. NAS 1.86:UN 3/3/CD. This CD may not be viewed on the computers near the Reference Desk; it requires special software.
Visit to an Ocean Planet. NAS 1.86:OC 2/CD. To use this CD on the computers near the Reference Desk, click on RUN from the START menu and run E:VISITW95.EXE.
Welcome to NASA's Earth Science Enterprise. NAS 1.86: EA 7/3/2000/CD. To use this CD on the computers near the Reference Desk, click on RUN from the START menu and run E:ESEX32.EXE.
NOTE: These CDs may only be checked out by St. Mary's users (or by other college students/faculty/staff with a Texshare card) or by special arrangement with the Documents Librarian. The CDs have been tested only minimally by the Library staff, and we cannot provide technical support in their use. The Reference Librarians can help you find a source for technical support, if that information is not given with the CD, or contact the Documents Librarian for further information.
These CDs are kept in the office, in filing cabinets in the Documents area, filed by Superintent of Documents classification number (given with each title). You might not be able to check out a CD if you come to the library in the evening or on a weekend when the Documents Librarian is not in. If you need to use a CD the best thing to do is to contact the Documents Librarian in advance and the CD can be left at the Reference Desk for you to check out.
