Information about Congress

Laws and Regulations

This set of guides describes Congressional publications, and publications dealing with laws and regulations, that can be found in the St. Mary's Blume Library Documents Collection and on the Internet. Some indications of holdings at the Sarita Kenedy East Law Library are also given. It describes and details the various locations of the on-site materials and the means of access to remote publications, and identifies aids in the use of this information. Internet URLs cited in the the guides can be found in this list.

The librarians at UC Berkeley have developed a set of Flash tutorials on how to find Congressional information. Be aware that some of the tutorials instructions may apply to their library and students only, but the general information in them is very useful.

Another Guide in this series—Government Information–Basic Guide—covers the Documents Collection in general, with descriptions of the basic access methods and tools.  Additional Guides discuss other specialized topics.
