New U. S. Documents

Declassified CIA Cold War documents
The Library began receiving volumes of declassified CIA documents
in early 2000. These compilations bring together previously classified analysis
and reports on the Soviet Union, eastern Europe and other Cold War enemies.
In addition to the documents themselves, each volume contains some explantory
material such as brief introductions, timelines of events, acronym lists,
etc. These are the volumes received so far:

Editor: Woodrow J. Kuhns.
-
At Cold War's End; U.S. Intelligence on the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe,
1989-1991. PREX 3.2:C 67. Editor: Benjamin B. Fischer.
-
Intentions and Capabilities; Estimates on Soviet Strategic Forces, 1950-1983.
