The first new volume in the Smithsonian Institution's Handbook of North American Indians series to come out in some time has arrived at the Blume Library. It is volume 17, "Languages." It contains general articles of academic interest to anthropologists, linguists, communications scholars and historians, as well as articles on specific languages ("Grammatical Sketches"). There is also an extensive bibliography.
