Revelations from the Russian Archives:  Documents in English Translation (LC 1.2: R 32)

The Blume Library has recently received this volume, which contains over 700 pages of translated documents that were featured in the Library of Congress' 1992 exhibit, plus some newly selected items. The documents include letters and memos as well as official declarations dealing with the policies of the Soviet state and of its leaders. There is a list of terms and abbreviations, biographical notes, a detailed index and some illustrations. The documents are organized into two major sections:

  • Perestroika and Glasnost

  • Prisoners of War
  • Cold War
  • The Cuban Missle Crisis
  • Peaceful Coexistence and Detente
  • Afghanistan
