Attendance: Pat Broome, Rhonda Davila, Amory Irby, Tina Petimezas, Wilson Plunkett, and Kathy Amen.
The major item of discussion today was the proposed state plan that we heard about 3 days before it was to be presented at TLA. The most interesting item in the plan seemed to be the notion that microfiche disposal lists will no longer be necessary under it. (NOTE: I emailed Sue Troyan to ask about when this provision would go into effect, and she said that the entire plan has to be approved by all the depositories before it becomes official, but she noted that since she expects no one will object to that provision, we can go ahead and dispose of MF without listing it.--KA)
Rhonda is working on a new display about September 11, which she hopes to have ready soon. Drop by the downtown library to see it.
St. Mary's will be migrating to III this summer.
Wilson was asked to serve on the board of the local inventors' group, which is part of Technology Advocates of San Antonio, (their website is at tasa.org) because of SAPL's patent resources. He has put on workshops on the patent process and will continue to do so.
Farewell to Pat Broome, who will be moving to Oregon in August. We'll miss you! Thanks to Tina and Amory for the cake and other goodies we enjoyed as part of Pat's send-off.
Our next meeting will be held at St. Mary's University Library on September 20, at 9 a.m. Have a nice summer, everyone!
Respectfully submitted,
Kathy Amen, Secretary/Treasurer
