Attendance: Chris Anglim, Rhonda Davila, Camille Fiorillo, Amory Irby, Michael Kaminski, Tina Petamezas, Wilson Plunkett, Ruby Wehmeyer and Kathy Amen.
The main topic on the agenda was the status of the State Plan revision that the State Library is undertaking. We agreed to think of some suggestions for them and bring them to the next meeting. We'll then draft them into a letter to send up to Austin.
Also, in the realm of regular business, we had our annual presidential election. Chris will be the new president for the coming academic year.
The rest of the meeting was taken up with the informal information sharing that always proves so valuable. Some of the announcements, etc.:
The patent workshop that SAPL was supposed to host at the end of September will hopefully be re-scheduled soon. It is geared primarily toward inventors and their attorneys. The Library will be putting on some workshops in January and June that will be of more value to the rest of us, as potential referrers of folks to SAPL. Wilson will be letting us know about those.
SAC has Statistical Universe available for on-campus use; St. Mary's has Congressional Universe
SAPL now has the last three years of documents in their catalog, with new receipts being added
The St. Mary's Libraries will be going to a new system soon, either Innovative or Horizon, at least partially courtesy of a TIFF grant
The Aviation Dept. at Palo Alto has merged their library collection with the general library collection
We may be on the list for self-studies this fall; if any hints are given at the FDLC Kathy and Chris will report
Our next meeting will be at Palo Alto on November 2 at 9 a.m. Chris and Kathy will give a brief report on the FDLC and then the SAPL folks will give us their Census workshop.
Respectfully submitted,
Kathy Amen, Secretary/Treasurer
