Attendance: Dorothy Blow, Pat Broome, Amory Irby, Myrna Langford, Tina Petimezas, Claudia Shaw, Ruby Wehmeyer, Steve Wise, and Kathy Amen.
Most of our meeting consisted of a presentation by Joan Chapa and Jim Noel of Marcive about their various documents-related products, primarily their GPO cataloging service and their CAT/WEB PAC versions of the Monthly Catalog. Since we all use at least some of these services, it was a very informative session and the "presentation" was really more of a lively discussion with questions and comments welcomed by the Marcive folks. We also took a tour of their facility. Thanks to Joan and Jim for a useful meeting and, also, for the nice eats!
A few other announcements, etc.:
Trinity's web-based catalog came online today and Myrna invites us all to check it out at: http://quest.trinity.edu/. [St. Mary's web-based catalog, complete with a few bugs, is also now available at: http://library.stmarytx.edu/webclient.html.-KA]
There may be a reception associated with the 2001 Depository Library Council meeting here; we all thought SAPL downtown is a logical place for this. We'll all be ready to help as needed.
There were questions about the state plan as asked about in the Biennial Survey. Most of us thought it had not been updated, although the State Library folks did talk about wanting to update it at that meeting last summer. [Amory reports that Sue Troyan hasn't responded to her request for information on this; it looks like "it hasn't been updated" is the best answer.]
Our next meeting will be our annual Christmas lunch. Meet at the Trinity Faculty Club (2nd floor of their student center) at 11:30 on December 3.
Respectfully submitted,
Kathy Amen, Secretary/Treasurer
