Public Access to CD-ROMs
from the 2002 FDLC
A presentation on making government CDs accessible was not of much direct benefit to us, since our CDs are rarely used (I did learn that this is a common experience at many other smaller institutions). One of the presenters in particular, Amy West, is a very knowledgeable techie and her handout was full of details for setting up access to a large CD collection using software which "virtually" loads all the CDs onto a hard drive for easier, quicker access. Her handout is at govpubs.lib.umn.edu/cd/summary.phtml.
