Training Non-Depository Librarians

This presentation gave us an update on the progress of Colorado's training project, undertaken with an IMLS grant: "Government Information in the 21st Century." They have had a "train the trainers" conference and several of the librarians who attended have begun giving training sessions in their local areas (in a five-state southwest region) to non-documents librarians and library staff. News about the program, as well as the training modules that were developed for the sessions (organized by subject) are available at OCLC's WebJunction, free of charge. (The online courses offered through WebJunction are fee-based, but several state library organizations are subscribing to the service for librarians in their states.) The presenters were adamant that the materials will be available for the foreseeable future; the University of New Mexico has volunteered to host them if needbe when the grant expires.
