San Antonio Public Central Library

Attendance: Pamela Billings, Dorothy Blow, Ben Longoria, Wilson Plunkett, Azucena Rodriguez-Guerra, Ruth Swan, Christina Trujillo, Rita Wilson, and Kathy Amen.

Most of the meeting was taken up with Kathy's summary of highlights from the Spring Federal Depository Library Conference.

There was also a general discussion of the trials and tribulations of distributing tax forms, an ordeal now only undergone by SAPL, since none of the rest of us receive the forms for distribution anymore. The academic libraries do have some folks coming in to access forms on the IRS website, however.

Ben also gave us an overview of the working of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office website and described some of the work SAPL does with folks who come in needing this information. And in addition to a fine spread of refreshments, Dorothy passed out copies of the department's handouts on small business information, patents, databases, etc. (BTW, in academic libraries, don't forget to tell non-students about the availability of TexShare databases through SAPL. When I have done this at St. Mary's, they are thrilled to learn that they can search them from home.)

This was our final meeting for the school year. Toward the end of the summer I'll be contacting y'all to see who can host our first meeting of the 2007-2008 year.

Respectfully submitted,

Kathy Amen, Secretary/Treasurer
