St. Mary's University Blume Library
Interlibrary Loan Services
When the Blume Library cannot supply an item, it might be available through
an "interlibrary loan," or ILL. Faculty, staff and students may
request to borrow items (i.e., books, journal articles, government documents,
etc.) if the Blume Library does not already own them.
Many libraries in Texas participate in the TexShare card program. To locate books in other libraries, search here. To check out a book directly from a participating TexShare library, obtain a TexShare card from the Blume Library circulation desk.
Limitations:
-
ILL services are restricted to currently enrolled St. Mary's students, faculty
and staff.
-
Interlibrary loan requests for items that we already own will NOT
be filled.
-
Law school students and faculty must file ILL requests with the Law Library.
-
If you request an item via ILL, you are responsible for any charges incurred.
Procedure:
-
Verify that we don't already own the item being requested by checking the Library Catalog.
-
Fill out an ILL form available at the Reference and Circulation
Desks. Or fill out an online request for books
or journal articles.
-
Return completed paper forms to the Circulation Desk. Online forms are submitted via email.
-
Allow at least 10 days for the item to arrive. Books often take longer.
-
Retrieve item from Circulation Desk.
-
Pay photocopy fees! Current ILL photocopy fees are $.10/page for students.
-
If an item is not a photocopy, return it to the Circulation Desk by the deadline
stamped on it.
