FAQ on Finding Music CDs in the Library

Music CDs are held behind the circulation counter. Please ask at circulation for the item you want. The library has a collection of thousands of CDs including many popular works.

If you want a particular performer, album title, or song title, search the Library Catalog. Use the Advanced Keyword search to combine performer names and title words.

Yes, a list of recently purchased CDs is available. There is also a complete list of cds in order by title and a Featured List of Audio CDs on the Library Catalog.

No, but there are several notebooks at the circulation desk that contain information about most of the popular music CDs in the library. These are arranged by genre (rock, country, blues, etc.) and within the genre by the name of the group or by the individual performer's last name. Each page has a short description of the album and a list of the songs included on it.

Please note: these notebooks are incomplete and do not contain information for every CD the library owns! Searching the Library Catalog is the best way to find out of the library owns a particular CD.

Search the Library Catalog using the name of the composer or performer as the "author".

• Type the keywords you want to search into the box on the Advanced Keyword Search page.
• Use the Material Type drop-down menu and choose AUDIO (MUSIC).
• Press the Search button.

Type the name of the song you want to find into the Keyword search box. You can put a phrase in quotes to make your search more specific, i.e., "Love me do."
