Federal Justice Statistics Resource Center

General Social Survey
Statistics taken from a personal interview survey of U.S. households conducted by the National Opinion Research Center (NORC). Search for variables and extract data formatted for spreadsheet or statistical software. Search for the topics and years you want, select variables, determine which is your dependent variable, and you can analyze the data online or download it for later analysis.

Institute for Research in Social Science Data Archive (University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill)
This is the national repository for Louis Harris public opinion data; it also holds the Roper Center's International Survey Library Association (ISLA), which provides access to most nonproprietary public opinion data; the Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR), which stores and distributes data from both individual researchers and most federally funded social science studies; and the North Carolina State Data Center, which distributes census data and the National Center for Health Statistics. Study of American Families
A telephone survey of randomly selected siblings of respondents to the 1994 General Social Survey (GSS).
