Persistent Links (CIAONet)

By using the proper syntax, you can create links to CIAONet (Columbia International Affairs Online) full-text materials. To create persistent links to CIAONet material, follow these steps:

  1. Connect to the CIAONet database through the library's databases page.
  2. Find a full-text article, working paper, or other full-text material
  3. Right click on the link, listed in the item citation, that leads to the full-text material
  4. Select "Copy Shortcut" (if using Internet Explorer) or "Copy Link Location" (if using Firefox)
  5. Paste the URL into your webpage, document, or Blackboard course.
  6. Copy the following remote access prefix: http://blume.stmarytx.edu:2048/login?url=
  7. Append (paste) the prefix to the front of the URL

Example:
http://blume.stmarytx.edu:2048/login?url=http://www.ciaonet.org/wps/api18/api18.pdf

*** Check it out! Copy/paste the new link into your browser address bar to make sure it works (remove any spaces in the URL).***
