Persistent Links (CIAONet)
By using the proper syntax, you can create links to CIAONet (Columbia International Affairs Online) full-text materials.
To create persistent links to CIAONet material, follow these steps:
- Connect to the CIAONet database through the library's databases page.
- Find a full-text article, working paper, or other full-text material
- Right click on the link, listed in the item citation, that leads to the full-text material
- Select "Copy Shortcut" (if using Internet Explorer) or "Copy Link Location" (if using Firefox)
- Paste the URL into your webpage, document, or Blackboard course.
- Copy the following remote access prefix: http://blume.stmarytx.edu:2048/login?url=
- Append (paste) the prefix to the front of the URL
Example:
http://blume.stmarytx.edu:2048/login?url=http://www.ciaonet.org/wps/api18/api18.pdf
*** Check it out! Copy/paste the new link into your browser address bar to make sure it works (remove any spaces in the URL).***
