Blume Library Brief Descriptions of Subscription Databases
The following are accessible only on the St. Mary's University campus. Periodical Abstracts--Research II provides citations and abstracting and indexing to significant articles in more than 1,600 general and academic periodicals. The database covers a broad range of topics, including biology, communications, history, law, medicine, political science, sociology, sports, other current interest topics, and reviews of books, concerts, films, and theater. The full-text from over 600 of the periodicals indexed is included. This database is made available through the TexShare program.

Abstracts LEXIS-NEXIS Academic Universe is a full-text online service containing hundreds of text files that cover topics in business, medicine, law, and many other subjects. Information in LEXIS-NEXIS includes the full-text of newspapers, magazines, newsletters, news wire reports, financial reports, directory information, legal cases, and legal analyses.

Academic Universe ABI/Inform Global Edition provides citations and 150-word abstracts and indexing for articles in over 1,000 management, marketing, and business periodicals from North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. The database incorporates management, industry- and company-specific information, as well as theoretical information on business topics. The full-text from over 500 of the periodicals indexed is included. This database is made available through the TexShare program.

Moody's US Company Data and Moody's International Company Data provides the following company information: history, brief business description, subsidiaries, officers, directors, income statement, balance sheet, long-term debt, capital stock, interim financials, and newsworthy events. The International Company database contains information for over 11,500 companies, while the US Company database contains over 9,600 companies.
Compustat PC Plus is primarily a numeric database containing 20 years of annual, 12 years of quarterly, 7 years of business and geographic segment, and 240 months of stock prices and dividend data. Contains data for over 10,000 active US and Canadian companies, as well as data for inactive companies that no longer file with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Contains many report templates allowing for manipulation and analysis of data.
