Analysis
An assortment of reference tools
typically used in St. Mary's Theological Foundations courses are briefly
described in the following paragraphs. If you do not find a needed
resource defined, ask a Reference Librarian (210/436-3508 or contact us at http://library.stmarytx.edu/acadlib/about/reflib.htm ) for assistance. These reference sources are located
on the main floor roughly between the shelf call letters BJ through
BS.
Bible
commentaries evaluate and analyze Bible
text.
Bible
concordances are alphabetical lists of
words (or phrases) indicating where those terms are found inside the
Bible. Read the concordance's preface to determine which version of the
Bible is indexed. This page also links to an online Bible.
Bible
dictionaries briefly define words
found in the Bible. Bible dictionaries are found in the reference
collection at & near the call letters shown below. Or search the
online catalog for a complete list.
Bible
atlases provide maps and geographic
information about places indicated in the Bible.
Bible
timelines provide a visual chronological
representation of the order of events that occurred in
history.
