Theses and Dissertations by Academic Major

St. Mary's theses and dissertations can be found by  using one of the various search options in the online catalogMasters degree theses  are shelved on the main floor (red book binding), at the end of the Reference Collection and are available for checkout.  Doctoral dissertations (blue book binding) are located in the main circulating collection on the third floor based on their LC classification number.   Honor's Program theses (blue paper binding) are also in the circulating collection on the third floor and are shelved based on LC classification.

Most Ph.D. dissertations written after 1996 can also be downloaded  for free by currently enrolled St. Mary's students or by patrons using  computers in the library.
This service is available through the UMI Current Research Database and can be found in our list of databases as Dissertations (St. Mary's).  Off campus users will need to go through the proxy server to access the database.



To find  Master's theses by  Academic Major in the online catalog  use the  Advanced Keyword  Search option  and type in the following information:

St. Mary's University "department name" thesis "degree letters"

This is not a comprehensive list of academic majors.  Based on the year of graduation there is some degree of variance in how theses have been cataloged.  For example some business theses may be found using M.A. rather than M.B.A. as part of the search term.
